19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from spring of that year.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

His retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an improved serve.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to take the lead.

Both players traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional championship, took control to push for a third set.

He saved 4 early break points in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
