Major Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and applying penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area experienced intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were injured.

The assaults follow nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were preparing for more assaults.
