I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
